A Letter of Intent from the Honorable Timothy the Just, Captain of the Red Company and Lady Elizabeta Alegreza Foscari

Unto Their Royal Majesties, Nikolai Petrov and Serena Kimbalwyke; Their Royal Highnesses Cameron and Amalie of Beckenham; Their Excellencies Baron Daffyd Blaidd and Baroness Meriel Fitzwilliam; and to the populace of The Barony of Flaming Gryphon, do we The Honorable Timothy the Just, Captain of the Red Company and Lady Elizabeta Alegreza Foscari send our fondest greetings.

We humbly submit this letter of intent to request the honor of your consideration for the next Baron and Baroness of The Barony of Flaming Gryphon. This Barony has been our home for over twenty years. We have both grown up, and have been greatly influenced by the unique traditions found in Flaming Gryphon.

If chosen as Baron and Baroness we would carry on the traditions which make our Barony unique within The Middle Kingdom. These traditions are made possible by many shires working together in order to perform service, embrace the arts, and foster the numerous marshalled activities which make coming to our Baronial events so enjoyable. We would seek to continue the honorable tradition of having the heavy weapons Baronial Champion be chosen by the ladies of the Barony. Gladly, we would continue the tradition of having a peaceful Twelfth Night dedicated to the choosing of the next Baronial Artisan by the populace, at an event which abounds with Baronial comradery, games, and dancing. We would look forward to continue providing a friendly and welcoming Baronial encampment at Pennsic War. Lastly, it would be our goal to uphold the leadership qualities as demonstrated by our former Barons and Baronesses.

We wish to help the Barony and Society grow within The Flaming Gryphon borders, by way of fostering demos and actively promoting the SCA. We would love to facilitate the individual growth of Baronial members by way of showing encouragement, learning of their talents, and providing guidance as needed. It would be a great honor and privilege for us to able to recognize and reward individuals for their hard work, time, passion, and creativity within our society.

In the past, Flaming Gryphon has supported many great causes dear to our hearts. We would see it as our duty as Baron and Baroness to continue to help collaborate and support fundraising within the Barony. Throughout the year fundraisers are held to support the Pennsic Valkyries which support the fighting community. Additionally, in the past we have supported efforts to collect monies for breast cancer awareness, the Wounded Warriors Project, and have helped provide for individuals in need within our Barony. The giving nature of our Barony has personally impacted our family, and we would hope to provide the same support and caring to others.

We are fully aware of the hard work and great responsibility inherent with the position of a landed Baron and Baroness. We aspire to be deemed worthy by The Crown, and by the great people of The Barony that we hold so dear to our hearts. We look forward to answering any questions you may have for us.
